And this is exactly the same thing my old man said to me, about a similar kind of an issue, "he did go into this with his eyes open" - like people only tend to get smart, AFTER they gain the experience to learn from it.... Looking at the picture of a pot belly stove and getting the information "It warms the room" - is not the same as backing your bare arse up to it on an icy cold day, when drying yourself after a quick wash.... "Oh - that is hot isn't it!" as the acrid smell of your burned skin wafts up to the nostils of god, appeasing his wrath much.

And it's after your in the pot many things start to become apparent to the inexperienced and untrained eye...... And every bit of circumstance, also has a LOT of complications to go with it.... Single mother = Why? Relationship history? Domestic violence and HER part in it? Your wages into her pockets? Paying for her and someone elses kid? False Accusations? Her fucking a roster of other guys? Her lack of ambitions? Her business skills - and the complete lack of them? Her lack of ambition? It's not is she a lazy parter, it's just how fucking lazy is she? Is she doing her best to be a proper wife? Or doesn't she even give enough of a shit to make dinner for 3 or offer up a sandwich - or keep something hot if your coming in late? - And of her income and supplimentary streams, what is she spending it on? Decent nutritional food, basic clean clothing from the charity shop, and she is doing a book keeping / accounting computer software / office management / catering course? Or is she just pissing it away on high priced, home delivered junk food and down at the poke machines and on booze and prescription pills and porn...

@DutchCobbler: It's AFTER gaining all this experience, that you can size them up and go, "Well there is a difference beteen having limited means, and grossly unmanageable - The place is clean and tidy and she is spending her spare cash on business started and learning how to run it - or are her bins full of empty beer cans and there is a few different guys she's fucking on a daily basis?" - Once you know what to look for and what it's showing or representational of - you can make your mind up pretty fucking quickly... and either stay or leave.
