The science of lime wash paint - is slaked lime, painted on thin, slaked lime, or calcium hydroxide, when painted on, it absorbs carbon dioxide, becomes calcium carbonate, and the calcium carbonate is VERY white, and the calcium carbonate is a crystal that aabsorbs the sunlight, it reflects inside the crystal prisim, and then is emitted. So the 98% white reflectivity of the lime wash, is enhanced by a 5% reflectivity of the crystal emitting light.....
SO lime wash emits more energy than it absorbs.
Lime wash is excellent - it's only draw back is it's very soft and easy to rub off.....
However, if you spray the HOT walls that get most of the HOT summer sun, it will do enormous amounts to stop the wall from soaking up all that heat.....
It's REAL good.
