Many of these old names for chocolate bars ans sweet's were positive names as well. Spangle's positive bright name, as you said Marathon, WTF does Snicker's mean? Is it a kind of "SNIGGER", are they laughing at the purchaser? I guess the list could go on? lol!. Why not make it easy and name them all today something like "Depression"! "Cull Flakes"!
In the 1970' I saw a documentary on the BBC.
