Man narrowly misses being cut in half by runaway sawblade

When Shane Reimche casually entered a store in Eugene, Oregon on Thursday, he had no idea he was being pursued by a giant sawblade which had come loose at a nearby construction site. CCTV footage captured the almost-fatal encounter, showing the huge sawblade lodging itself in the door Reimche had walked through just seconds before. If it did that to a door, we dread to think what it would have done to a person.

Reimche was understandably shaken by the realization that the Grim Reaper had just missed him. ‘Obviously, it wasn’t my time but probably the closest I’ve ever experienced,’ he said. ‘I don’t think I would’ve survived being touched by that thing. I need a beer. I’m still shaken. It’s 9 o’clock. I’m not going to work today.’ We can’t say we blame him.
