'genderqueer' isn't a thing even in the abstract sense. It's just meaningless drivel.
Gender is a semantical concept, a mere abstract. It is a classification used to structure language on the basis of sex (Man= he, woman= she, tomato= it) though english doesn't really use gender much.... however, spanish has gender as part of its fundamental structuring and this allows us to go all the way back to greco-roman era from which the etymology of words like 'gender'/'genus'/'genre' derive. There is no rubric by which 'genderqueer' as a term has any level of merit, obviously I know but I wanted to actually back up the reason rather than dismiss it outright.
