Locals protest deployment of Japanese missile units to island near Taiwan

Locals blocked Ishigaki’s port entrance, protesting the Japanese military deployment of hundreds of troops, including missile units, to the new base. Ishigaki, one of Japan’s southernmost islands, is only 270km from Taiwan. ‘If you have a base, you are a target,’ a concerned resident said.
