Lighthouse of "La Jument" - Phare de "La Jument"

Everytime I look at a light house I am wondering "how" or to "what shapes", the stones are cut. Did you know that not only do they use very good cement to bond the stones and seal the joints, BUT they cut the stones to be interlocking pieces... sort of like Lego bricks that are keyed in on all 6 sides... There is a LOT of thought and experience in the design and construction of really good light houses... Like that one on the little rock in the middle of an outcrop - I mean that thing is locked down to the rock..... and it's locked up. Imagine if it was a HUGE storm instead of a stormy day...
