Riga has removed a prominent Liberators of Latvia monument depicting three Soviet soldiers. The City Council decided to demolish the memorial despite a number of protests.

This monument was put up to remember the people who fought in the great patriotic war, and not the ideologies of the sides in the war.
This is a shame that such wonderful monuments were destroyed - and for what? To disrespect the millions who died?
