It's incredible - like the exhaust turbines get really hot, so the figure out how to make them hollow, drill lots of tiny holes in them so they blow cool air from the inside over the blades, and that means they can run them harder.... so they figure out how to coat them with a heat reflective ceramic film, they can make more power... And in these two steps, they can run 30% cooler, use 30% less fuel and make 30% more power....
Something like that...
Longer range, more power, more passengers and cargo, less fuel.....
The cleverness in them is extraordinary.
Now they are making aircraft from carbon fiber and kevlar etc., composites and they are way lighter, way stronger and can carry more, use less fuel, get more range etc...
And these fantastic aircraft are super high tech daily commuter busses...
