Kiev needs ceasefire 'to resupply and rearm' — Steve Gill

As diplomats gather from around the world at the UN headquarters, Kiev has used the opportunity to call for an immediate, unconditional ceasefire. The proposal was backed by 51 countries.

However, Russia's Foreign Minister Lavrov emphasised that a temporary truce, without a negotiated resolution to the conflict, would be unacceptable to Moscow.
