You can turn anything into abuse/addiction. I've seen people do similar things with cough medicine, motion sickness pills, etc.
Some of the craziest drug's aren't even covered by law. Like salvia, I've seen people use it but never used it, and datura, grows wild around here and causes nightmare hallucinations.
