The 6 mill figure has been vomitted at the public at multiple occasions throughout history. Like throwing wet paper at a wall and see if it sticks. According to their religion the messiah will come AFTER 6 million of them have perished, so they tried to lie about several disasters and stick this number to it. At some point, they even claimed that 6 million jews lost their lives during the Bolshevik revolution (something they themselves created).
Also, before WW2, Adolf got headlines and international recognition for employing 6 million Germans in the span of a couple years. That idea had to be overruled in people's minds so they spammed everyone with the 6 mill perished chosen ones while the canons were still hot.
But they did have to admit their own living member statistics were contradicting the holo numbers myth and came up with all kinds of excuses.
