Noooooo Inexperience, lack of proper certified training, things get over looked / forgotten, making assumptions, not reading the labels etc... not cross checking everything in absolute detail. I mean people fuck up all the time and people make genuine mistakes and oversights and some people just push their luck......

He has also been cleaning everything that needed it with CHLORINATED brake cleaner.... and he appears to assumed that it's just one more cleaning job... but he either didn't know or didn't connect the dots, and or had forgotten that the label said, "Chlorinated and Welding = Phosgene Gas = extremely dangerous" - and people just make mistakes - they are not 100% on all aspects, all the time....

LOL, "SP" is a fucking idiot...
you do NOT use chemicals to clean metal that you are planning to weld with...
you use wire wheel / sanding / etc.

It depends upon the chemical..... and how they react with the arc, with the UV light and other things like oxides of nitrogen. There are anti-spatter sprays that some are really good and non reactive and some WERE extremely poisonous.... Aceton is used to wipe down Alumium and I think, stainless steel too - Then there are the extremely perfect type welding for aerospace and nuclear stuff... ---------- * Non-chlorinated brake cleaner: An effective, ready-to-use option. Check labels carefully to ensure it is explicitly non-chlorinated. ----- The primary safety rule is to never use chlorinated solvents, as the heat from the welding arc can turn them into highly toxic phosgene gas. --------- What cleaners or chemicals to avoid using when welding ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLtmEkgZ8nA
