Israel, Gaza exchange fire after truce takes effect

Israel and Palestinian militants in Gaza have agreed to an Egyptian-brokered ceasefire aimed at ending the five-day wave of cross-border attacks. The Israel Defense Forces, however, reported sporadic hostilities after the truce took effect. According to the IDF, several rockets were fired at the southern part of Israel and the military responded with strikes in Gaza.
