Iranian shopkeeper lets struggling families buy groceries on trust

As war, sanctions and rising prices put growing pressure on Iranian households, a Tehran shopkeeper is allowing longtime customers to take home essential groceries and pay once their salaries arrive.

Amir records every purchase in a handwritten notebook. With rent, suppliers and 10 employees of his own to pay, extending credit is a risk—but one he continues to take because he trusts his customers to return.

RT correspondent Saman Kojouri reports from Tehran on an informal credit system built not by a bank, but through years of relationships between neighbors.
