‘If you don't have brain, just f**k away’: AI data center investor storms out of hearing
A Norwegian company has withdrawn its proposed AI data center project in the Philippines after its main investor, Daniel Robertson, stormed out of a public consultation in Oton, Iloilo.
Residents and local officials had been questioning the proposed facility over its potential water and electricity use when Robertson became visibly frustrated.
‘If you don't want it, then I don't want it,’ he told the room before walking out. During the confrontation, he also said: ‘If you don't have brain, just f**k away.’
Daily Guardian senior reporter Joseph Bernard A. Marzan, who was at the meeting, explains what happened inside the hearing, why residents were concerned about the project, and what happened after Robertson walked out.
