The United Nations has urged Washington to answer for the abuses inflicted on inmates at the infamous Guantanamo Bay prison, better known as GITMO. A UN expert insisted that the long-promised shutdown of the detention facility is crucial, along with apologies for the prisoners’ prolonged suffering.

A former prisoner of the camp has told his story of life at the notorious center.
