I am all for minimalism, and on first glance looks good, but its like most things build in america, not durable, on pothole in the road or even "off road" and you can pick up the pieces

On my 3rd time visiting the midwest, I was on a local car show where people literally build their own cars, fantastic creativity on display, and I saw a very nice car-home like a 50's camper, aluminium all the way and every square inch of the roof in solar panels, even on the curved edges, I have a pic somewhere

Yeah in Australia - you have to be a specially certified welder to make your own motorcycle frame and every weld has to be X-Rayed and it has to be designed by a qualified vehicle engineer.... AND to a point this is GOOD and it stops shit falling apart underneath you, with a truck up your arse... BUT it also takes away from good builders, who can make great bikes, by lumping everyone in with the clueless, the stupid and the inexperienced. What about if it's a China Bike made from crap steel that cracks and falls apart? Well if I can make a better one with better steels and better welds... So much for the shit they allowed to be imported.

It needs a spa and a sauna, and a tower of power in a basement dungeon.....

Like in regards to geniuses like you and me, after watching it 3 times.. or was that 4... I think this guy and his friend - have not built many campers... if any. AND 90% of building anything awesome is thinking it all through, as a system... like an underfloor water tank and a fold down toilet seat, and he could have extended the foot area up the drawbar, and made the front sort of pointy and curved..... I didn't like the way the wiring was pulled tight point to point, and the points were hard narrow steel staples... AND the use of liquid nails etc... Hmmmmm It lacks bracing in the joints and corners.... I am a BIG fan of bolting wood, but with very wide and thick washers, and using glue and screws with flat wide heads on them...... That way the connections are immensely strong. I have also designed and made my own plywood for exceptionally high strength plywood.... REALLY nice stuff.... RAther than thin strings of hot melt glue, so the boards fracture and splinter when the laminations meet adverse condtions, the sheets were full surface wetted and generously glued - and I used a secret material between the plies... And this shit is like the walnut dashboards in Rolls Royces etc., only better.

You can travel, get a good nights sleep, great for the trips away for a few days here and there without expensive hotels etc. and it's a lot better than sleeping in the car - unless the car has fold down seats and you can put your feet into the boot etc...

I used to tow a trailer behind a bicycle and on the open plains, issues such as wheel diameter, and aerodynamics REALLY become important because you have SO little power to overcome rolling resistance and wind resistance.... This was a very important series of lessons in power consuption and aerodynamics and wheels and suspension etc.. This guys trailer is good, but it's not brilliant. He thinks being light weight, lowers fuel consuption - and to a point it does, but aerodynamic shaping accounts for 90% of the drag in this design..
