Hundreds protest killing of Amazon defenders

Indigenous people marched through the streets of Sao Paulo to decry the murders of Brazilian specialist Bruno Pereira and journalist Dom Phillips, who disappeared in the far western Brazilian state of Amazonas and later were found killed. According to the organizers, the protest aimed to draw attention to the protection of indigenous and human rights, and to highlight the declining government interest in the region and in the environment sector.
