Huge sinkhole swallows part of highway in Guatemala

A major trade route to the Pacific in Guatemala’s Municipality of Villanueva has been damaged with the abrupt appearance of a huge sinkhole devouring the highway.

The authorities are investigating the cause and assessing the risks as the sinkhole expanded to a staggering 20 meters wide and 15 meters deep.
