Broadly speaking, a man WANTS to make his wife happy, and that's why nagging is so painful. It goes straight to a man's soul when his wife makes him feel not good enough and he's already devoting everything he's got. It's part of his identity getting ripped out. This is why monster girls are so popular. Men want to accept women despite their monster qualities, but sometimes that's only possible in fantasy because women take it too far.
