Grim Rants: I Had To Take A Mental Health Break From TFM

I have been a fan of TFM for many years and I've supported him throughout that time. I still plan to do so, he is helping countless men and would like to help more. They need the help.

But I cannot really listen to the show for a while, because it is just too much for my mental health. I have a variety of issues that I struggle with everyday and it is tough, though I manage. The black pills of recent shows (which are necessary) are just too much for me right now, especially considering the stress of my job right now.

I would encourage all of those who need this information to continue to listen. I will continue to fight the culture war, although futile it is, it keeps me sane as these are small battles. Just think of me as Paul Revere in that sense, "The Collapse Is Coming! The Collapse Is Coming!" and prepare accordingly.

You should already be preparing to leave. However, focusing too much on this is just not good for a person like myself, who can be mentally unstable at times. Again, it is a battle that I fight everyday.

TFM talked once about getting a PM about a guy that just lost it and was planning to off himself. This raised a question he struggled to answer, which was about the magnitutde of his own influence on other men. He's gotten increasingly angry, I think his personal frustrations come with where he lives, what he's observing, and what's been trending. He's been wrong a lot and has adjusted his message and thinking accordingly.

These days he's given more to sweeping generalizations, and tonally, he's gotten darker, but he's a man like any other: given to his own feelings, thoughts, and ideas. Remember that he has trust and mommy issues (which I do no say disparagingly, having similar and in some cases worse experiences than he's described with my own mom), and he's been betrayed so there are probably abandonment issues, and other mental health problems he may not be addressing in his own life.

Keeping in mind that he's just a guy like you and I, he's not perfect, and for as long as I can recall he's never claimed to be a role model or a figurehead; just the opposite.

I also suffer severe PTSD and a condition called Major Depressive Disorder. For a few years, especially when DDJ was around, TFM seemed much more on point, but over the last year or two he seems to have lost himself in his own malaise, and for me is best taken in smaller doses. I check in once in a while, but I check out when I sense I've reached my limit, which is usually when he goes into another meandering rant about something that seems more about outrage than constructive observation.

I think he's done a lot of good, and I think he may yet do more, but he's not the authority, he's only another voice, perhaps in some cases subject to the Dunning-Kruger effect, meaning he doesn't have all the answers, or even as many as he may think he does.

He'd probably say as much as anyone else, that it's okay to walk away and watch something else, if only for your own sanity. My advice, not that you asked, try finding a balance between being informed, and taking care of what YOU can in YOUR life. No need to let his negativity (or focus on the negative) to be the extent of red pills, and going your own way.

Best of luck to you, my dude.

Thanks for the kind words. I think you laid this out very well.

stopped watching quite a while ago because I saw it coming. Same for Terrence Popp who has also started dooming. Now I watch X22 report

I've partially given up on Popp. That Blake guy has hijacked the show for his own benefit. Terrance even did the Council on Men's Excellence bullshit recently. Lol also, he keeps plastering near-naked pics of women all over his videos, courtesy of the obvious frustrated beta male Blake.

I have given TFM some distance myself. It is not the show it started out as, change occurs but gloom must be dispelled.
