Forgotten and Almost Deserted - Some of the Poorest Towns in Australia

I dunno..... I live / travel through many similar places.....

There is a LOT of history there.....

Not sure of this in any detail.....

BUT for a while a long time ago, these places got good (enough) rains to grow wheat etc... and after WW1 - lots of bumfuck nowhere land was given to soldiers to turn into farms... then the places dried out and the farms, towns, railways lines - all fizzed out and faded away.....

There are issues of time, distance, costs etc...

This is a generalised kind of an idea.... not necessarily true or accurate - either wholly or partly - more of a general undercurrent of reality for a lot of these places in this region.....
