First the street grabs. Now bank freezes

A Zelensky adviser is backing a proposal to freeze the bank accounts of Ukrainian men avoiding forced mobilization, arguing that they should be denied the ability to live comfortably in society.

The proposal comes as videos continue to show Ukrainian draft officers forcing men off the streets, while a purported recording from the front captures a commander ordering troops to treat anyone retreating without permission as ‘the enemy.’

Political commentator Taras Sidorets argues that these measures will not strengthen the Ukrainian army or motivate reluctant recruits. Instead, he says Ukrainians have been reduced to resources for both the war and the personal enrichment of people connected to the Kiev government.
