The so-called ‘Great War of Africa’ in the late 1990s resulted in a mind-blowing 5.5 million deaths, the majority of which occurred in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Now, fears are rising again in the region after intense fighting erupted between DRC national forces and the M-23 militant group, which is reportedly aligned with neighboring Rwanda and Uganda.
