'Empire is not insurmountable' — Haz Al-Din on Sovintern and the crisis of capitalism
Russia has announced a new international framework aimed at uniting socialist forces and movements across the world. The initiative, introduced by State Duma Deputy Chairman Alexander Babakov, was launched at the first Sovintern event in Moscow, which brought together more than 100 political parties and public organizations from around the globe.
At the conference, Haz Al-Din, chairman of the American Communist Party, argued that the U.S.-led “rules-based world order” serves the interests of global capitalism rather than ordinary people. He described Sovintern as a potential “beacon of hope” and warned that without sovereignty and an alternative framework, the world could face a future shaped by fascism and imperial aggression.
