When I lived in Washington state, I used to do cannabis. I've been off the stuff for over a year now. Cannabis gave me Euphoria, but also paranoia and anxiety. I just didn't see the value in doing that anymore.
At the time I was afraid that nothing would please me as cannabis did, but once I was off, I found other activities to create purpose.
I found that I was no longer a slave to such a drug and that if I set my mind to things, the situation would get better.
As for the Crystal-Meth user, sounds like he was trying to "out-perform" Van Gogh!
