This guy is not good chemically....
He has left out the potassium chloride...... He is also a dumb fuck going for a sugar hit, instead of a nutritional hit....
YOu need 900mg of sodium and 200mg of potassium per liter of water, to make the BASE salt replacement drink, to compensate for significant water and electrolyte loss from sweating - especially for long and hard exercise in hot conditions...
You need about 1.1 to 1.3 grams of SALTS - being about 900 milligrams of sodium and 200 milligrams of pottasium as the chloride salts, to replace salts lost through sweat.
You can work out the blends from this ratio - mindful that you don't have to be exactly exact, and potassium atom is heavier than the sodium atom...
1 Kg of potassium chloride yields how many grams of potassium?
And 1 Kg of sodium chloride yields how many grams of sodium?
Elemental Yield from Salts
Potassium Chloride (KCl)
Molecular weights:
Potassium (K) = 39.10 g/mol
Chlorine (Cl) = 35.45 g/mol
KCl = 74.55 g/mol
Potassium fraction = 39.10 / 74.55 = 52.45%
****************** 1 kg KCl yields 524.5g of potassium
Sodium Chloride (NaCl)
Molecular weights:
Sodium (Na) = 22.99 g/mol
Chlorine (Cl) = 35.45 g/mol
NaCl = 58.44 g/mol
Sodium fraction = 22.99 / 58.44 = 39.34%
****************** 1 kg NaCl yields 393.4g of sodium
Summary
SaltElemental yield per kgPotassium chloride (KCl)524.5g potassiumSodium chloride (NaCl)393.4g sodium
Potassium chloride is a more efficient carrier of its target element by mass than sodium chloride is — potassium being a heavier atom than sodium is more than offset by chlorine being a fixed constant in both compounds.
