@Life_N_Times_of_Shane_T_Hanson: I could be wrong, but I believe the point was why he had to drive an hour to Orlando, FL, when seemingly there were plenty of options in his area. Cape Canaveral is right off the Atlantic, closer to beaches, while Orlando, though a larger city, is further inland. Plenty of activities (except when there's a space launch at Kennedy, which isn't often) near the beaches.

@sauger1001: All that for a date outside his local area. He wasn't living in a sparsely populated area. Lots of women in his area.
