Cyber Requiem is a neo-noir cyberpunk jazz instrumental that reimagines the funeral dirge inside a digital cathedral. A synth pipe organ establishes the vast sacred space with enormous reverb tails extending nine seconds, cold cathedral air breathing between chords, and a sub-bass organ pedal providing the physical weight of the floor beneath. A baritone saxophone enters as the voice of the dirge, playing slow deliberate phrases in the low register with the weight of a New Orleans funeral march. A Harmon-muted trumpet answers in call-and-response, intimate and grieving, its phrases carried far beyond the notes by the cathedral reverb. A trombone sustains the harmonic foundation beneath. The progression moves through modal i-iv-v before expanding through a warm Bbmaj7 bVI and a cold Neapolitan Ebmaj7 bII — the most harmonically distant moment, creating a physical disorientation in the sub-bass as the pedal follows the root to Eb1. The C section reaches the ceremony's peak with baritone and trumpet in parallel thirds ascending over full brass, organ swelling, digital bells ringing stacked perfect fifths and octaves through the nine-second reverb. The resolution arrives as a perfect authentic cadence, A7 to Dm, full harmonic closure. Then the instruments depart one by one — saxophone first, trumpet following, trombone releasing, organ fading into its own reverb tail. Digital silence falls. Not acoustic silence but the specific silence of a powered-down digital space. The ceremony complete. The farewell given with full dignity. 🎷⛪
