Henry Kissinger famously once said “It may be dangerous to be America's enemy, but to be America's friend is fatal.” Qatar and the entire Arab world have learned this reality the hard way. Given the Trump administration’s feckless explanation of Israel’s unprovoked attack on Qatar, it is fair to say we are living in a new age of barbarism.
