When did "go to work" become a burden? Geez, a practice literally *thousands* of years old is too great for this generation of snowflakes and Karens...
Fortunately, for the last several decades, I put much more wear and tear on buses and trucks, while my POV stays parked. Get to travel while getting paid. Not sure how much longer this can go on. I guess it seems, as long as "The Great Resignation" continues.
We've been commuting for free for entirely too long. Most folks don't have side projects, so they don't feel the loss of that time. If you're losing time because of work, they owe you money. It's the opportunity cost they pay for, not the productivity; they are very clear about this when you negotiate salary and the only way to get a better offer is to have another company's offer to contend with!
