CHIMP WORLD

It's common for people who don't actually know what they're talking about to say that we should live like chimpanzees or bonobos because it would fix toxic masculinity or whatever. What they really mean is: "I want DNA from one man and $$$ from another, and I don't want to be shamed for it"

Interesting point. Chimps are still living in the jungle because the lower class males willingly slave away for the alpha male's offspring and the groups' survival. As humans, group survival is not the main incentive anymore, and we care a lot more about the purpose of our efforts.
I believe monogamy was introduced in human society to resolve the violence of lots of young frustrated men who did not get a chance with women (hypergamy) and were relentlessly abused to provide for the upper classes and their offspring. Monogamy limited the options that women were allowed to have, forcing them to look at the other males or risk ending up alone as a woman (which was high risk in those days). As such, it brought stability and peace in society.
Do we really want to go back to those days? Talk about losing progress.

Sure, but I prefer to know which are my kids. Of course women want this : it takes an entire village to give a woman what she needs. Nowadays women have to pretend that's not true; if we went back to chimp society, the gaslighting would become obsolete.
