About the Anthem:The anthem was written by a fighter from the Carmeli Brigade’s Reconnaissance Battalion while stationed in the field, during the first days of the “Iron Swords” War on the northern border.The lyrics reflect the ethos of combat reserve service and the unique character of the brigade. The consistent use of plural language emphasizes the values of comradeship and fighting together.The song makes deliberate use of historically significant terms such as “defenders” (maginim) and “breakthrough fighters” (portzim), creating a direct link between the brigade’s heritage — the Yehiam Convoy breakers and the defenders of the Galilee in the War of Independence — and today’s warriors.The anthem builds a bridge between the brigade’s past and its current operational activities, while highlighting its strong geographical connection to the Western Galilee and Lebanon — for example, in the line “from the Carmel ridge to the shores of Tyre.”The verses review defining moments on the northern border: the liberation of Haifa and Acre, the heroism of the Yehiam Convoy, alongside the current fighting in the Nitzarim corridor in the Gaza Strip.On the human level, the anthem highlights the figure of the reserve fighter who, despite his personal life, family, and work, stands ready for every mission out of a deep sense of duty and pursuit of victory.The anthem was written to strengthen the sense of belonging and pride in the Carmeli Brigade, and to ensure that we continue to write our own history — because the powerful spirit of Carmeli is what defends Israel.
