This is one of the main reasons why fights start in Pattaya.. Most people visiting it think that they can act like in the western world (matrix).. Which is false.. People there can beat you up over 100 baht.. Which is silly for us in the west.. But in Thailand it's a matter of respect.. I saved that Russian dude from being beaten up near Walking street.. Even when you know you're getting scamed for a couple of dollars / euros in Thailand.. Paying is most of the time a better option.. You're the guest in their country.. Not the one who is going to change shit.. Once you adopt that mentality you are ready for Thailand..
