No point turning a precise and very accurate motor and gear box into grinding paste in the sump.

I'd like to see HD reintroduce the 45 WL bikes with a clean running High compression overhead valve engines...

Aside from their piss poor 9km a liter 5:1 compression side valve engines, they were a most excellent bike.

While the long stroke engines are not as efficient as short stroke engines, they are a genius motor, that could idle at ~120 RPM and they were less like a motor and more like a manual wind up clothes line - with a long handle..... Lovely amounts of torque.
