Borrell vaunts importance of EU to Cuba, but activists criticize bloc’s support for US sanctions

During his visit to Havana, EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell claimed the bloc is more important to Cuba’s trade than other partners such as Russia and China.

However, activists have objected, accusing the EU of supporting long-standing American sanctions on the Caribbean island.
