Berlin landmarks go dark amid gas crisis

As part of Germany’s ongoing effort to drastically reduce energy usage, historical landmarks around the capital were plunged into darkness on Thursday. Berlin Cathedral, the statue of Frederick the Great, and Forum Fridericianum were among those to have the lights switched off, with around 200 buildings and landmarks awaiting the same fate in the coming weeks, according to officials.
