That unwritten rule that you have to trust family and can't cut family out of your life for wronging you was made up by the backstabbing family members.

I find that "Naming" is better than "forgiving". If you can "Name" the person by their actions and understand their interests, one can lay their mistakes at the perpitrator's feet and walk away from the situation as "their problem".

I used to be a very, very vindictive individual. As you get older and (hopefully) more mature, though, you decide to focus your limited time on doing constructive things instead of destructive things. Revenge has never been constructive for me. I have more often than not hurt myself more than the object of my retribution.

Never forget (or even forgive), but you'll do better in the long run if you learn to let go and focus on being productive and being a better you.

Didn't you study history? Royal family members get picked off all the time...

So, you have met evil... while alive. Interesting... Violence is only the beginning...
