Armenian opposition leader Gagik Tsarukyan has been sentenced to two months in prison on allegations of fraud and money laundering, which he denies.

His lawyer, Yerem Sargsyan, says masked and armed National Security Service officers searched Tsarukyan’s residence and used unnecessary force against him. Sargsyan also alleges that the charges were brought illegally, without first following the procedure required to waive Tsarukyan’s parliamentary immunity.
