A decade ago if you fought under the banner of Al-Qaeda you were an enemy of the United States, period. American presidents made speeches that they were going to hunt you down and kill you. We spent trillions of dollars and two decades fighting the war on terror against these groups, but what if we told you, Al-Qaeda is in Washington right now? Mohammad Qanatri became Syria's official diplomat to America, the first in over a decade. He has a diplomatic passport and diplomatic immunity, free access to the U.S. capital where he lives now. The only problem: he was a big part of Al-Qaeda at one point. America Now's Jalyssa Dugrot talks with Patrick Henningsen, founder of 21st Century Wire about what this means and how it actually happened. Plus, is this real? During a presentation at a global conference in Brazil, a U.S. government-produced map of Africa mislabeled six of the continent's nations. The map was so bad the countries on the map did not even show the boundaries of any actual existing countries.
