"Vienna Demeduk, 63, a massage therapist with two daughters and two grandsons, was extremely fit, running 20 kilometres every other day, and had no health issues before she received her one and only Moderna dose on July 2, 2021. She says she took it mainly to keep her job, which required flying to Winnipeg. On the morning of July 4, as she got ready for a run, she felt a pop in the back of her head, lost her sight and her ability to walk, and dragged herself out of her condo to get help.

She had a severe cerebellar stroke, spent time in the ICU at Vancouver General Hospital, suffered a brain hemorrhage three days later, and went to GF Strong Rehab Hospital to relearn walking and self-care. Less than a month later she had three more clots and another brain hemorrhage. Demeduk says no doctor would name a vaccine cause, that a stroke specialist told her privately she could lose her licence for speaking about it, that imaging technicians whispered that she was one of many very fit patients they were seeing, and that her hospital file was redacted. After returning to work in Victoria, she had three more strokes and now counts nearly 12, uses a cane, has hand and leg ataxia, numbness and severe fatigue, and cannot take blood thinners.

She calls the Vaccine Injury Support Program a joke, saying her appeal was lost and she will not redo it. She speaks for injured people who cannot speak for themselves.
