POV: you want to get your beach body ready. You make sure to eat plenty of raw meat and make sure your scales are lovely, shiny and green. You are a fabulous alligator.
Also POV: you go to an Alabama beach and find an alligator casually chilling in the sea. You stand well back, and hope its vision is based on movement. You say ‘see you later, alligator,’ in an attempt to break the tension with humor. It doesn’t work.

Hmmmm it's lovely alligator....
But ahhhhh you should see the BIG salt water crocodiles in Australia....
They cruise the rivers, swamps and estuaries - and the beaches and open ocean - and they are nice and friendly - they just love the tourists - mostly because they are dumb and easy to catch.
We keep them as pets.
Because they are so lovely, soft and cuddly......
