"Why are millions abandonning Microsoft?"
Because Microsoft is Fucked - that's why.
In a big picture thing..... I bought a new lower spec laptop.....
It had Microsoft - what ever.
The swap file was running the HDD at 99% - it took like 10 minutes to open a Word document.
I shit you not.
The system was running at 100% RAM, CPU, SWAP FILE just sitting there doing nothing - except thrashing the hard drive to death and it was essentially unuseable....
I changed the OS to an early Ubuntu... and in idle - it consumed 5% of all resources....
Except for a "tick" sound, and a flash of the read write green LED, every few minutes from the HDD, aside from the obviously lit screen, it was hard to determine that it was actually even on.
The pairing of Microsoft and this laptop - people should have gotten their heads kicked in.....
It's inescusable - to have such a shitty operating system, just thrashing a laptop to death, doing NOTHING....
I became an adoring and absolute anti fan of Microsoft, once and for all time.
This I suppose was the icing on the 10,000 ton cake of shit that is microsoft and it's products.....
