Allison Inquiry Press Conference — August 13, 2026 | Parliament Hill

In this August 13 press conference on Parliament Hill, MP Dean Allison, Allison Inquiry Counsel Shawn Buckley, volunteer lawyer Myriam Bohémier, and Dr. Charles Hoffe discuss the upcoming Allison Inquiry into Canadians who report COVID-19 vaccine injuries. The Inquiry is scheduled to take place in Ottawa from September 8–11, 2026.

MP Dean Allison speaks about the overwhelming response from Canadians seeking to participate, with more than 1,000 applications received from people who want their experiences heard. He explains the importance of creating a forum where Members of Parliament can listen directly to Canadians and their families.

Constitutional lawyer Shawn Buckley, who is serving as Inquiry Counsel, discusses the stories he has encountered from applicants and the extraordinary lengths some Canadians are prepared to go to in order to have their experiences heard. He emphasizes the importance of listening to people whose lives they say have been profoundly affected, even when their experiences are difficult or uncomfortable.

Dr. Charles Hoffe, a British Columbia family physician, shares his experience raising concerns about serious health problems he says he observed among some of his patients following COVID-19 vaccination. He describes attempts to bring those concerns to public-health authorities and the professional consequences he says followed when he continued to speak publicly about them.

Myriam Bohémier, a volunteer lawyer with the Inquiry, speaks about the importance of ensuring that French-speaking Canadians are also aware of the Inquiry and have an opportunity to participate in the national conversation.

Together, the speakers outline the purpose of the Allison Inquiry: to create a forum where Canadians who believe they were injured by COVID-19 vaccines can tell their stories and where elected representatives can listen directly to their experiences.

The Inquiry will take place September 8–11, 2026, on Parliament Hill in Ottawa.
