I went to Liberia on a 90-day Personal Protection assignment in 2003. Monrovia was a an absolute wreck of a city: open sewers, burned out buildings, check point all over the place manned by drugged-out child soldiers. It was surreal. The local people could not even go out in the jungle to fetch fresh fruits to eat because of the "Leopard Men", and assorted other crazy, drugged-up, cannibalistic gangs. I remember paying USD 10 for a miniature Snickers Bar at Mamba Point Hotel in Monrovia. Crazy times!
You should your next trip to Liberia Doggk-San.
