"Both" persons (or 3, or more) knew what they had to do, and did it. Any naivete beyond that means "someone" didn't do their homework.
... A rational examination, as well as an honest acknowledgment can still be useful.
I think if I had watched more TV thought the actors were hot and had... happy adolescent daydreams of... "smashing the hell out of that" I would be more jealous that someone else had... The realization that "That wouldn't have happened no matter what", even worse the undersanding that "Even if I had the kind of money that would have let me... disgustingly loose used goods would certainly not bring me happiness."
Which is why when I hear them crying and complaining all I can think of is "Where did I leave that pop-corn?" or "is this even worth listening to?".
For those still harboring the illusions that the characters they see are 'real'... well we should start at
"Paid actors act", "That character is not the actor, that actor is not the character"
"People do crazy things for money", "Acting is a job", "Competing in any job/field has challenges and does typically require some personal sacrifice", "laying on your back is easier than 'real' work", "This was a choice, they did choose it.", "There are consequence good and bad, short term and long term for every choice", "This is how things really are.", "All of this is the result of a system which relies on underlying principles to operate.", "That system was concieved intentionally and operates as it has been designed and modified to act.", "The people who designed this system and those who modified it to act this way did so with intention.", "How you choose to act based on this information is up to you."
TLDR; yep, facts are facts, one should know, embrace bitter truth to grow.
Both of those comments describe how I feel about this in a nutshell!
