12,800 Years Ago Something Stopped the World — We Still Don't Know What
Twelve thousand eight hundred years ago, the world was warming. The glaciers were retreating. Mammoths still walked across North America. Human civilizations were expanding into a future that seemed full of possibility.
And then, almost overnight, everything changed.
Temperatures in Greenland collapsed by nearly 10°C. Entire species vanished from the Earth. Giant mammals disappeared forever. Ancient cultures faded from the archaeological record. A mysterious black layer appeared across continents — as if the planet itself had been reset.
Scientists call it the Younger Dryas.
But after decades of research, we still don’t know what caused it.
Was it a catastrophic flood from collapsing ice sheets?
A shutdown of the Atlantic Ocean currents?
A massive volcanic eruption?
Or did fragments of a comet explode across the Northern Hemisphere in one of the most devastating cosmic events in human history?
Tonight, we explore the real science behind one of the greatest unsolved mysteries of the ancient world.
From frozen mammoths in Siberia… to the strange black mat layer buried beneath ancient civilizations… to Göbekli Tepe, built at the exact moment the cold finally ended… this is the story of the event that may have changed the course of human civilization forever.
This is what we know.
This is what we don’t know.
And this is why the mystery still matters today.

There is SO much going on... Pfffffffff It's better to be a bit overwhelmed with the grand machinations of the cosmos - It's staggering and sort of incomprehensible - there is SO much of it....
It's better than perpetually stupid know nothing, do nothing, full of shit, women.
This is worth saving and watching say 20 or 30 times...
There is a lot of not to hard to process and remember, data in it.
Jesting aside..... Some tales require extensive and detailed records and a great deal of thought and observations.
