1/2 the load = 2 x the distance = Crippled for Life Compliments Physics.

A bit simplistic - but losing half the load = 2 x the remaining loads throw - and that height and speed and the neat "Whack!" as he landed into a cloud of dust on the other side of the lake - that has got to fucking hurt and badly too.... and more or less landing flat was the only saving grace - had he of landed head first he would have died immediately.
