In this episode of RT’s ‘Sanchez Effect’ Rick looks at the European Union's policies with one of its Belgian lawmakers, Rudi Kennes. He is one of the few European politicians who is shocked with how the EU’s leaders handle their duties. He agrees with Rick Sanchez that it could be described with one sentence ‘shooting themselves in the foot’. In terms of the war on Iran, he says that it was clear that the country is not going to fall to the same scenario Venezuela did as Tehran's leadership had cleverly planned for the conflict and the country’s geography rules out any ground invasion. Kennes says that despite the EU publicly proclaiming its distance from the war on Iran, many members of the bloc and the UK are heavily involved. He says it is because all the European leadership comes from businesses and now their lobbyists own them, especially military manufacturers. Call it buyer’s remorse or the search for an off-ramp, it doesn’t matter, Trump wants out of the war he started and can’t finish. However, getting out and ending this conflict is not the same. Israel still has a say and importantly Iran has veto power.
